About the PositionThe Facility Services Coordinator administers the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program for the 3.4 million square foot building inventory plus all facilities, grounds, and utilities that encompass the real property assets of Western Washington University. The Preventative Maintenance program is the first line of defense to ensure all critical building and utility system components for the University’s mission are maintained in good working condition. The Facility Services Coordinator is responsible for inventorying this entire asset, in all its complexity, and designing a service plan for each asset requiring preventive maintenance. This assessment requires a collaborative effort with all shop supervisors, specific skilled trades, and from other data resources including manufacturer recommendations, regulatory agencies & codes, and industry standards.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in administering, documenting, and/or coordinating a preventive maintenance program for at least one component or system or equipment type within a large commercial or industrial facility or institutional environment.
Demonstrated ability to effectively administer, facilitate, refine, and/or coordinate a complex database program and problem solve with minimal direction or supervision.
Proven ability to work successfully under pressure, to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks, schedule work, and meet commitments.
Demonstrated technical knowledge of building and utility systems.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
Demonstrated ability to work well with diverse groups in a multicultural setting and to be responsive to the needs of facilities staff as customers in a fast-paced, challenging educational environment.
Advanced level skills in using computer software applications and systems to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerBI and other reporting software.
Valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one prior to starting work
Ability to physically perform essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in building construction, industrial engineering, or a related field.
Two years of experience planning, scheduling, or coordinating facility maintenance and construction projects. Additional experience in planning, scheduling, or coordinating facility maintenance and construction projects may be substituted, year for year, for education.
Journey level status in a skilled trade.
Successful prior leadership of full-time staff employees.
Experience working in a bargaining unit environment.
Demonstrated success in a preventative maintenance program in a complex and diverse work environment.
Expert level skills in using Microsoft Excel computer software and its advanced time saving features.
Demonstrated excellent time management, organizational and administrative skills.

Salary $5,345 - $7,183/month depending on qualifications and experience.
