The Devices Data Services SDE team is at the forefront of pioneering data accessibility and utilization across Amazon. Key job responsibilities
Design and implement end-to-end scalable solutions for critical business operations, including high-performance backend services and frontend applications using distributed systems principles and object-oriented development practices
Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, design reviews, and technical documentation while collaborating with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, UX designers, and senior/principal engineers across teams
Lead long-term technical initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and champion the adoption of emerging technologies and engineering standards while identifying system improvements and optimization opportunities
Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, thrive in ambiguous environments, exhibit customer obsession, and maintain excellence in cross-team communication and collaboration

You'll develop innovative tools and features that streamline data access and automate workflows for our customers. Collaborating with data engineers, data scientists, and product managers, you'll follow best practices in software development, from architecture through deployment and maintenance. About the team
The Devices Data Services team combines the expertise of Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Engineers, and Software Development Engineers to build innovative data solutions. Leveraging AWS technologies and full-stack development, we create systems that power data-driven decision-making across Amazon. Our team's unique composition allows us to bridge the gap between complex data engineering challenges and practical software solutions, making us instrumental in advancing Amazon's data strategy and technological infrastructure.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
