Location: Remote
Pay Rate: $30-$34/hour + OT after 8 hours, DT on Sundays, and Per Diem for eligible contractors
Schedule: 7 days/week, up to 12 hours/day (Day & Night Shifts Available)
About the Role:
Ready to bring your welding and millwright skills to a high-impact industry? PDS Tech Commercial is looking for a talented Millwright Welder to support key maintenance and installation projects at customer sites. With a primary focus on working in pulp and paper mills, you’ll be integral in maintaining and installing equipment, ensuring that safety, quality, and efficiency are at the forefront of every task. Your work will directly contribute to keeping essential systems running smoothly and reliably.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Installation: Read and interpret drawings and specifications for equipment maintenance and installation. Determine the appropriate tooling and parts needed for the task.
Precision Work: Use power tools (grinders, impact wrenches, hy-torc, etc.) and precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, laser alignment) to align and inspect components with accuracy.
Component Assembly: Install and remove bearings, seals, gaskets, and gearboxes (including worm-style and shaft-mounted).
Collaborative Teamwork: Work alongside fitters, welders, riggers, and other millwrights to complete projects on time and to spec.
Safety Focus: Adhere to all safety protocols, wear required PPE, and follow company safety guidelines while working in a physically demanding environment.
Travel & Shift Work: This position requires up to 100% travel with 7-day workweeks and 12-hour shifts, so flexibility and a strong work ethic are key.
What You Need to Bring:
Required Qualifications:
Experience: 4-6 years of experience as a millwright or industrial mechanic.
Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with manual and electrical tools such as grinders, torque wrenches, and impact wrenches. Experience using precision equipment like micrometers and laser alignment tools.
Mechanical Skills: Experience installing bearings, including interference fit bearings, using bearing heaters and hydraulic methods.
Welding Knowledge: Familiarity with welding processes, cutting torches, and rigging.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 lbs or more, work in heat-intensive environments, and access confined spaces.
Certifications: Professional certifications (e.g., Apprenticeship, welding certificates, OSHA 10) are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in pulp and paper mills or similar industrial environments.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
Strong communication skills and team collaboration experience.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $34.00 per hour
