RATE OF PAY:  *$50,065.60/yearly entry - $57,512.20/yearly after three years (PB06)   *

Full-time position (40 hours per week) with benefits as provided for within the BCAMPS agreement, although union membership is voluntary.

GENERAL SUMMARY:  Under the supervision of the County Clerk is responsible for all facets of voter education, election preparation, records management and filings, the monitoring the County's elections and overseeing related activities including training precinct inspectors and programming and testing ballots for all elections. Performs other administrative duties in support of the Clerk's Office.  Must be able to work prolonged hours during election activities and may be required to attend meetings/trainings outside of normal business hours.

ESSSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Oversees day-to-day elections operations to include, ordering supplies, using voting equipment, ballot programming and printing, testing ballots, preparation of forms, training materials, reimbursement claims, post-election audits, and handling of Election Coordinating Committee meetings for in-county school and library districts.

Assists in developing programs by reviewing forms and documents for compliance with operational policies and procedures.

Provides technical assistance with on-line computer systems and software.

Coordinates election activities with other departments such as forwarding voter registrations, ballot requests, absentee ballot applications, and absentee ballots to local clerks. Oversees the tabulation of election results, compilation of election returns, and the preparation of the election returns for certification.

Reviews, monitors, verifies petition signatures and prepares receipts for candidate filings, campaign finance filings and other documents.

Assists citizens, candidates, and other interested parties with questions and concerns regarding the election process and related department operations.

Serves as a lead to staff for elections to include assigning and monitoring work and providing direction.

Trains precinct inspectors and other members of the public involved with the election process regarding election operations and standards.

Stays informed with legislative bills and election law changes.

Updates the elections web pages as needed.

Coordinates the County board of canvassers meetings.  Prepares board agendas, packets, and minutes of the board and the election commission.

Conducts research and coordinates the freedom of information (FOIA) requests of the election
