Allegion Engineering Manager - DevOps and SRE in Bangalore, India

What you’ll do :

  • Lead team in the development and maintenance of reliable infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Identify and proactively recommend continuous improvements on DevOps services provided.

  • Standardize and train members across product teams on relevant DevOps processes and tasks.

  • Create and own an Observability Platform to proactively track and support application health.

  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DevOps and related domains.

  • Contribute to dev ops workflows through scripting and system administration activities.

  • Provide system performance optimization and maintenance support.

  • Apply enterprise security policies and standards.

  • Lead the technology strategy for Infrastructure as Code and tooling.

  • Enhance cloud infrastructure and procedures while identifying cost reductions.

  • Maintain documentation of processes, configurations, and technical guidelines. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project status, metrics, and achievements to stakeholders.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at various levels, including executive management, project managers, and product owners. Understand their needs and priorities, and effectively communicate the value and impact of DevOps initiatives.

  • Experience in Agile software development and DevSecOps practices.

  • Act as a thought leader within Allegion for DevOps practices. Experience updating and deploying environments through Infrastructure as Code scripts.

  • Strengthen DevOps competency in India

  • Responsible for people leadership of DevOps team – hiring, managing performance objectives, providing regular feedback, handling performance assessment, managing career growth , mentoring, employee engagement etc..

What you’ll do :

  • A leader with strong Passion for DevOps, DevSecOps, Agile, and Security

  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization

  • Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in timely manner .

  • Have a passion for technology and a willingness to explore and adopt emerging technologies for practical business purposes.

  • Bring an upbeat, positive attitude while developing innovative technical solutions with Matrix organizations to help enable business growth and improve customer satisfaction.

Experience:

  • 15 to 18 Years of experience in Software Application Development/DevOps/SRE

Preferred Skills:

  • 8+ years of DevOps experience with software configuration management and release engineering.

  • Good understanding of virtualization and container technologies (Docker, EKS/AKS/Kubernetes, etc.) 

  • Very proficient with designing and implementing cloud solutions in Azure, AWS and other Cloud technology implementations and management platforms.

  • Knowledgeable in software development languages such as Java, Spring, React and Design Systems like Material UI

  • Experience with tools such as Git, Azure DevOps, Artifactor, and other similar tooling

  • Exposed to deploying canaries for testing and conducting security checks in CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience in working on strategies towards ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability of a large-scale, cloud-based application and infrastructure.

  • Proficient in configuration management tools like Ansible and infrastructure-as-code frameworks such as Terraform and CloudFormation.

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Sentry.io, CloudWatch, etc.) for proactive system monitoring and troubleshooting.

  • Experience hiring, Mentoring, and leading DevSecOps, SRE and Platform engineers.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a highly complex & matrixed organization, delivering medium to large-sized projects and initiatives. 

  • Ability to apply policy and non-functional requirements of enterprise software development into actionable practices and software.

  • Experience in architecting highly available systems that are secure and utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability, and high availability.

  • Experience implementing SAST, DAST, and IAST tools are preferred. Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment while providing consistent application lifecycle management

Education:

  • BE/B Tech/M Tech/MCA/MSc in Computer Science Engineering
