Description
Leidos is seeking a PostgreSQL Community Edition Infrastructure Expert to be part of the mission solution and help lead SSA’s Database Automation strategy. Join one of our high performing teams responsible for automating the infrastructure of PostgreSQL Community Edition, supporting the Social Security Administration (SSA) and their mission to meet the changing needs of the public, positively impacting at least 65 million American lives per month. We are a team of forward-looking professionals in need of a strong candidate with these key required skills : Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL internals and Community Edition implementations on Linux using Ansible and other tools to automate and streamline tasks.
Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week.*

Champion PostgreSQL Community Edition and drive innovation and automation.
Attend all customer technical discussions/design/development meetings and provide technical inputs to further enhance the code quality/process.
Provide guidance/support/training to other junior/mid-level staff.
Impact functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards, or operational plans that position Leidos competitively in the marketplace.
All other duties as assigned or directed.
FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS ( Basic Qualifications )
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field. Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Masters or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience
10+ years of experience with Web component development using modern JavaScript, CSS and CSS preprocessors such as SASS and LESS, ES 6+, and Stencil.js.
Experience with Ansible automation and best practices.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.
FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE ( Required Skills )
These skills will help you succeed in this position:
Excellent communication and written skills.
Senior Level knowledge of PostgreSQL Community Edition.
Strong Linux skills.
Senior Level knowledge of PostgreSQL recovery and high availability.
Strong experience installing, maintaining, and documenting PG in an RedHat Linux environment.
Experience with GIT/BitBucket, Jira, and Confluence or similar tools
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
Understanding of database techniques and best practices.
HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)
Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:
Proven work in DevOps Environment.
Familiarity with modern development software, tools, and methodologies.
Expert level experience with PostgreSQL in Linux environments.
Experience working on Agile projects and understanding Agile terminology.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
