Quality Control Intern

What you’ll do

This position will support the Quality team in the day-to-day workflows of ensuring effective quality control at our utility-scale solar plant sites as well as contributing to longer term strategic initiatives to ensure the team maintains efficient internal processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with data collection and clean-up to aid reporting on quality metrics.

  • Participate in conducting quality audits and inspections to identify workmanship and equipment issues.

  • Support the Quality team in investigating incidents to determine root causes and develop preventative controls.

  • Help organize and deliver Quality training sessions and workshops for employees and contractors.

  • Assist with the development and implementation of Quality procedures and training material under the guidance of senior Quality staff.

  • Engage in special projects and research under the guidance of a Quality Manager, contributing to the company’s Quality initiatives and goals.

Who we’re looking for

Knowledge

  • Experience collecting and organizing data

  • Well-versed using Excel and Word

  • General understanding of Statistics

  • Preferred experience with models for Root Cause Analysis such as 5 WHYs

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.

  • Relevant coursework or certifications in Quality principles are a plus.

Internship Details

Pay rate: $20 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week

Dates of internship: June 2nd through August 22nd

Location: Lighstsource bp's Denver or Austin office. This is a hybrid role and intern must be willing to work in office at least 3 days per week.
