*This is the earning potential over the course of eight steps. New hires will generally start at Step 1. Annual step increases are based on performance reviews and financial authorization.

There will be a 3% across the board general salary increase effective June 30th, 2024.

The Department of Environmental Protection, licensing section of the Bureau of Air Quality, announces a Management Analyst I vacancy in Augusta.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:This is professional services work in the licensing section of the Bureau of Air Quality involving review, examination, evaluation, data entry and maintenance, and quality assurance of data management systems, work processes and policies, and website information.

Responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing activities, data, and work problems.

  • Summarizing findings, preparing reports, and recommending changes in work programs, policies, procedures, or practices in administrative, records, and information management systems.

  • Managing general permitting programs.

  • Finalizing licenses and updating application and license forms and templates.

  • Mailing duties

  • Assisting with developing and amending regulations.

  • Oversight and maintenance of the Section's website.

  • Developing and updating standard operating procedures.

  • Working with other staff on special projects.

Work is performed under limited supervision. The position will interface with a variety of different types of facilities and their consultants, staff from the Bureau of Air Quality, the Department of Environmental Protection, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the general public, and other interested parties to prepare and provide information and reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Six (6) years of education, training, and/or experience analyzing, evaluating, and/or developing improvements to organizational and/or managerial systems, programs, and practices.

Preference will be given to candidates with skills and/or experience:

  • Knowledge of data collection and interpretation methods and techniques.

  • Knowledge of methods and techniques of analysis, work simplication, and forms and records management.

  • Ability to gather, assemble, calculate, and analyze facts and draw valid conclusions from data and other sources.

  • Air Licensing or Air Quality related experience.

  • Proficiency in working with information management systems and understanding of relational databases.

  • Oracle databases and database reporting tools, such as Crystal Reports.
