As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dedicated Manufacturing Material Handler to support our production processes. Job Summary: Material Handlers play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our manufacturing facility. These positions are responsible for the accurate and timely movement, storage, and management of raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products within the production area. The ideal candidates will have experience in material handling within a manufacturing environment, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. Key Responsibilities: • Material Handling and Storage: • Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials according to company standards. • Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of materials. • Move materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and loading docks using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks). • Organize and maintain inventory in an orderly and accessible manner. • Production Support: • Supply production lines with necessary materials in a timely manner to prevent production delays. • Remove finished goods and scrap materials from production lines and transport them to designated areas. • Assist in the setup and changeover of production lines by delivering necessary materials and equipment. • Inventory Management: • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies. • Track material usage and report low stock levels to the supervisor. • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records in the company’s inventory management system. • Quality and Safety: • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. • Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor immediately. • Participate in safety training sessions and adhere to company policies. • Inspect materials for quality and report any defects or issues to the quality control department. • General Duties: • Keep work areas clean and organized. • Assist in general maintenance and housekeeping tasks as required. • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations. Qualifications: • Education: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Experience: • Previous experience in material handling within a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred. • Experience in the panel and furniture component industry is a plus. • Skills and Abilities: • Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. • Basic computer skills for inventory management and data entry. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) safely. • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures. • Certifications: • Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification upon employment. Working Conditions: • Physical work environment requiring standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods. • Exposure to manufacturing noise, dust, and machinery.
