Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a First Line Manufacturing Manager (level K ) to support the Auburn Tooling Services (ATS) team based out of Auburn or Puyallup, Washington on 2nd shift.

Successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and coaching skills that will further enable our business unit to embrace and elevate the One BPS culture, tools and key performance indicators. Likewise, Manufacturing embraces a first pass quality culture and this requires our leaders to be committed to ownership and accountability of our team member’s success. FOD free product and clean as you go is also a component of our production system and this also requires a steadfast commitment to our standards, our people and our customer.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing activities in multiple Tooling manufacturing disciplines.

  • Execute Go4Zero strategy; develop and execute business plans; develops organizational and technical strategies.

  • Acquires staffing resources; leads process improvements; develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, leaders, peers, and direct reports; provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes; manages, develops and motivates employees.

  • Driving the implementation of OneBPS within the department

  • Monitors appropriate metrics to ensure performance to plan. Coaches, counsels, mentors and provides developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities.

  • Recognizes contributions of individuals and teams to improve employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated workforce.

  • Establishes partnerships and relationships with internal customers, stakeholders, peers and direct reports. Ensures work statement is completed in a safe manner, with the highest level of quality on schedule and budget.

  • Conveys organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of workgroup, project or process goals. Proactively communicates with employees, peers, and senior leaders.

  • Identifies opportunities to improve work-related products and processes within own workgroup, project or process.

  • Engages and empowers employees to make process improvements through innovation. Leads lean initiative implementation and Tooling rate readiness projects to support on time deliveries.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Auburn or Puyallup, Washington.

3The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience working in an aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing environment.

  • 3+ years of experience with continuous process improvement initiatives.

  • 1+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role.

  • Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace tooling or equipment drawing

  • 3+ years of experience in working to lead and develop teams to execute to safety, quality, and cost

  • 3+ years of experience collaborating with cross functional teams

  • 3+ years of experience with Quality Management Systems and/or One Boeing Production System (One BPS)

  • 3+ years of experience with Project Management

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $115,900-$134,200
