    Location: College Park and Midtown

    Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm

    Job Type: Full Time; 40 hours/week

    Your Impactful Role

    The Patient Account Coordinator is responsible for handling patient accounts for the occupational medicine department; managing front desk check in/ out along with accurately scheduling, verifying benefits and obtaining authorization and collecting time of service responsibilities.

  • Demonstrates a courteous, friendly, and professional demeanor while he/she greets and checks out patients.

  • Collects Point of Service payments. 

  • Responsible for accurate and timely charge capture for clinic-based services.

  • Handle patient billing and patient balance inquiries.

  • Responsible for accurate and timely charge capture for clinic and hospital-based services.

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of third-party billing and reimbursement, the clinic’s financial policies, and industry knowledge.

  • Prepares and submits daily productive reports as required.

  • Performs other necessary duties as required by the clinic.

    Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.

  • Adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance.

  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and peers.

  • Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare student - physician, nursing, physician assistant, healthcare administration, etc.

  • College-level education including health or medical-related courses

  • Upper-level knowledge of medical terminology

  • Upper-level typing/computer skills
