We are looking for a paralegal to join our AMER legal team to support employment, litigation and operations matters. This is an opportunity to grow an develop working on various legal matters and supporting various functions and business units. Flexibility, proactivity, and a desire to work collaboratively is desired.

Role Purpose

Perform a variety of complex law related tasks and provides assistance and support to the Company’s

attorneys in order to enhance the legal counsel and support provided to the client. Conducts legal

research, manages litigation matters, reviews/drafts legal documents, and may act on behalf of the

Company in simple legal matters.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct complex legal research independently and accurately. Handle to completion factual investigations, data gathering and document analysis for preparation of litigation pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, case analysis, and other legal documents as requested and appropriate.

  • Draft and review/modify legal documents with minimal guidance from attorneys, such as management agreements, assignments, purchasing agreements, contracts, deeds, loan documents, corporate bylaws, minutes and resolutions, etc. Expedite, pursue and monitor final resolution of legal issues subject to attorney review.

  • Gather, maintain, organize, analyze, and disseminate information from employees, outside parties and Company documentation relating to legal matters in which the Company is involved.

  • Prepare correspondence, pleadings, contracts, etc. with minimal technical guidance by attorney responsible. Finalize and implement final version.

  • Perform and may supervise certain department administrative tasks (e.g. legal library administration, brief bank, data bank or other data base management, etc.) to ensure accurate records and aid in research tasks.

  • Perform government filings to fulfill legal rules and regulations.

  • May act as primary point of contact between Company and its registered agents for service of process.

  • Perform a variety of administrative support duties as assigned. Prepare reports, charts, presentation data, or logs as required and according to established specifications. Notarize documents. Answer inquiries related to daily activities of work area, and act as a liaison between assigned work area and internal or external contacts to convey appropriate information. Compose clear and concise correspondence or memoranda as requested or required. Copy, route, and file appropriate documents in an accurate and timely manner. May review, track data from, complete and/or monitor staff itineraries, calendars, expense reports, or other functional reports as needed. Identify and assist in planning for the acquisition of supplies, equipment, facilities, and services necessary to maintain an efficient operation. Perform other support duties as assigned to facilitate the smooth operation of the assigned work area

Key Skills & Experiences

Education –

Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.

Certification –

Paralegal Certification OR 4-year degree and 2 years related experience and working towards a paralegal certificate.

Experience –

4 to 7 years progressive work related experience with significant research and drafting responsibilities in a corporate, governmental or law firm environment with demonstrated proficiency and understanding in one or more functions related to the position.

Technical Skills and Knowledge –

  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, and understanding of relevant matter management, secretariat, or entity management software and computerized legal research.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of legal concepts and terms. Demonstrates clear and effective verbal and written skills for the purpose of obtaining and conveying information to clients, outside counsel, management, and team members as well as producing legal material.

  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines with minimal supervision;

  • Superior attention to detail;

  • Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within stated deadlines and for more than one attorney

  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities;

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;

  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels within and outside of the organization;

  • Ability to present ideas and information in a concise, organized way

  • Ability to organize files and willingness and ability to perform administrative function

Pay Transparency:

The hourly range for this role is $20.20 to $40.67. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Atlanta, GA. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

**This job is also eligible for a 10% annual bonus pay.
