Aerotek Warehouse Lead in Ashland, Virginia

Job Title: Warehouse Lead

Job Description: As a Warehouse Lead, you will oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and accurate inventory management. You will be responsible for supervising warehouse workers, coordinating receiving and shipping activities, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Your role will include managing stock items, verifying inventory counts, and investigating discrepancies. You will also ensure proper storage and labeling of items, operate forklifts, and perform data entry tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead warehouse workers in daily operations.

  • Receive and count stock items, recording data accurately.

  • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in the warehouse.

  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.

  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in the warehouse and supply room.

  • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.

  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

  • Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.

  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.

  • Control inventory and perform data entry tasks.

  • Process, package, and ship orders accurately.

  • Inspect products for defects and damages.

  • Receive, unload, and place incoming inventory items appropriately.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience with computer systems.

  • Forklift operation experience.

  • Knowledge of warehouse processes and inventory control.

  • Material handling skills.

  • Ability to inspect and examine shipments.

  • Leadership and supervisory skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (will not be operating lift for the first few months).

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
