AnMed Health Behavioral Emergency Response Team Technician- BERT Technician in Anderson, South Carolina
SUMMARY
As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the Behavioral Emergency Response Team (BERT) Technician provides quality patient care for psychiatric/behavioral health patients under the supervision and direction of licensed nursing personnel in the hospital setting.
SOME SPECIFIC DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
Proactively rounds on patients identified as high risk for violence.
Encourages open communication with patients to provide an atmosphere of comfort and safety.
Documents observations about patients that are rounded on in the electronic medical record.
Responds to a behavioral emergency event and is the lead in talking to the patient about the situation.
Works in conjunction with the rest of the Behavioral Emergency Response Team to help formulate a plan for the patient.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED required
Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills required
Minimum of one year in behavioral health preferred
