The Walt Disney Company Director, Sales Integration & Business Development in Anaheim, California

Job Overview

The Director-Sales Integration & Business Development is a critical role in ensuring the Disney Destinations Sales Solutions organization has the tools and resources it needs to deliver Disneyland Resort commercial objectives. This requires constant collaboration with leaders in Marketing Strategy, Digital/Technology, Revenue Management & Analytics (RMA), Operations, and California and Florida based Sales teams to ensure alignment and participation in all Commercial plans. Additionally, this role has direct oversight of two sales channels with strong business development opportunities: Retail and Southern California Tourist Sales, which includes the local Good Neighbor Hotel program. It will also interact with the contact center business in developing strategies that impact both consumer direct and leisure channels. Ultimately, this Director will lead ongoing efforts to evaluate the business, optimize it, establish growth plans and contribute to long-term planning as it relates to 3rd party sales channels in particular.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of 3rd party distribution, adapting quickly to changes in consumer, guest and client behaviors

  • Lead the future of DLR Sales channel distribution through Sales Innovation, Sales Integration and Cast Member development

  • Lead a high performing team in developing innovative products and strategies to bolster demand, improve yield and optimize distribution through both leisure and non-leisure sales channels

  • Lead the integration of sales channels with RM&A, Operations, Lodging and other lines of business to develop and achieve Commercial priorities

  • Collaborate with internal partners to understand business trends that inform long-term plans to drive revenue growth with focus on filling the gaps

  • Identify new revenue generating opportunities in the leisure and non-leisure channels with focus on providing the best guest experience

  • Continually inform and educate internal partners to help them understand the value that sales channels bring to the Commercial organization

  • Lead the interface between Sales and Digital/Technology teams to provide dedicated focus to ensure sales channel alignment with technology initiatives

  • Drive innovation and disruptive ideas supporting business development through all sales channels

  • Represent Sales in relevant commercial projects including Resort pricing and ticket strategies

  • Amplify sales team focus on driving demand and conversion, maximizing yield and accelerating commercial innovation

  • Lead the integration of site-specific sales channel marketing and communication plans with broader DLR and Disney Destinations teams

  • Collaborate on strategic planning for leisure and non-leisure sales channels

  • Lead a team in extensive analytics, forecasting and planning in collaboration with all internal lines of business

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires strong skills in the following areas: leadership, influence, analytics, strategy, storytelling, collaboration

  • Basic understanding of technology systems for tickets and room nights, strong understanding of sales channel distribution

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in sales channel distribution, analytics and strategic planning

  • Outstanding verbal and written skills, including solid presentation skills

  • Exceptional ability to create long term business growth strategies

  • Ability to obtain and accurately interpret data from multiple sources, leveraging data to develop compelling recommendations

  • Strong partnering and interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with cross functional peers

  • Proven leadership experience, able to inspire, develop and mentor others

  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization

  • Superior organization and project management

  • High level of corporate professionalism and business acumen

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

Preferred Education

  • MBA or related post-graduate degree

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $163,500 to $219,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
