Purpose of Role

The paternity coverage will last approximately 6 months.

The Retail Project Manager is responsible for managing the new space opening and refit program in the EMEA region for our DTC (Direct to Consumer) Owned & Operated business and reporting directly to the Real Estate Sr. Manager.

You will manage multiple projects simultaneously across our owned full price and outlet channels from project initiation till completion.

Additionally, you will lead work & you will collaborate with internal cross functional departments (Real Estate, DTC Operations, Store Design, Retail Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Merchandising, Sales) and external stakeholders (landlords, contractors, UA vendors & agencies); to ensure the projects are delivered on time, in scope, within budget & meeting UA’s quality standards.

In this position you will be the primary point of contact for DTC O&O to drive the new store opening and refit process, influencing key stakeholders in decision making, manage the construction schedules & processes; you will also be responsible to initiate improvements, set up tools – process & procedures to support the business for long time success.

As a Project Manager you lead, manage and organize construction projects with a high level of professionalism and according to routines, company policies, guidelines and local legislations. You prepare and present budgets as well as follow-up on cost and suppliers to secure financial transparency. You drive tendering and contracting for your projects and coordinate feasibility studies, design, execution and logistics for your projects. Through strong teamwork and clear communication, you secure that the relevant stakeholders receive needed information on time.

Your Impact

  • Manages the EMEA DTC O&O new space opening and refits program; ensures the projects will be delivered on time, within budget & quality and brand standards.

  • Setting budgets and timelines for all projects and tracking against these.

  • Run projects in line with UA routines and policies to secure financial transparency.

  • Supports the Real Estate Sr. Manager in the business case preparation and during leasing process with feasibility and technical input.

  • Works closely with NSO Lead and cross- functional project teams with internal (Operations, Merchandising, VM, RM) and external (Architects, consultants, contractors) stakeholders on a continuous basis,

  • Leads procurement, contracting and management of all consultants and vendors per project.

  • Coordinate tenders, evaluate bids and select final contractors.

  • Manages supply chain of (project specific) directly supplied materials from our Global/Regional vendors.

  • Drives improvement actions, makes recommendations & develops processes, tools & vendors to set the department up for long term success and elevate the brand.

  • Optimizes planning and follow up.

  • Supports the EMEA Expansion strategy.

  • Provides continuous value engineering; acts proactively in making data driven decisions on alternative approaches,

  • Acts as primary program lead & contact for O&O DTC in EMEA for assigned projects within region.

  • Secure that all stores are built in line with the general/local building standards and UA portfolio brand specifications.

  • Secure a good communication between internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with project documentation, time schedule, quality reporting, project closure and handover.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Construction or Architecture.

  • 8 + years of relevant experience in Project Management for an international retailer.

  • Proficiency in Autocad; Ms Office including Ms Project,

  • Fluent in English,

  • Strong Analytical & Proactive Problem-Solving Ability,

  • Strong cross functional communication skills and conflict management.

  • High ability to multitasking, organizing and prioritizing.

Workplace Location

  • Location : Amsterdam office

  • Work life Integration Designation : Starting in October, teammates are required to work on-site for 3 days per week. This will increase to 4 days per week beginning January 2026.
