Salary:

$22.14/hr.

Shift available:

Full-time (8 am - 5 pm)

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
  • The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) II position is responsible for providing direct daily care, supervision and activities for persons residing in the Respite Care Unit
  • The LVN will provide and monitor medical services and may serve as shift leader
  • This position must be flexible enough to fill in during emergencies, vacation and sick leave if needed
  • This position will provide homemaker, respite and habilitation service, as defined by the Home/Community-Based Service Principles
  • This position will work at other TPC facilities as needed
  • Administer, monitor and chart the use of medications as scheduled following physicians orders and monitors/treats medical conditions
  • Reports medical problems to program R.N. Communicates both physical care and meets daily living and personal needs for clients, i.e. bathing, toileting, dressing/undressing, feeding, social/recreational activities and transporting
  • Intervene physically when necessary to prevent injury to self and other individuals
  • Adheres to TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised

Required qualifications to be successful in the job:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Licensed to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of Texas
  • License must be current and in good standing
  • Must have a valid Texas drivers license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred qualifications to be successful in the job:

  • Experience in providing daily supervision and assistance to residents served (i.e. toileting, bathing, feeding, and dressing)
  • Experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Experience in record keeping and documentation
  • Experience working with persons who have aggressive and/or inappropriate behaviors
  • Experience in working with special diets, menu substitutions and meal preparation
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in wiring
  • Experience in administration and assessment skills
  • Experience in providing medical treatments, i.e. feeding tubes, injections, etc.
