What is Freshway? Freshway Foods is a production facility in Sidney, OH. At Freshway Foods, we offer customized retail and foodservice solutions to a customer base than spans 27 states in the eastern half of the United States.

To drive sales growth, item/category penetration, and profitability by managing relationships with National Accounts and wholesale produce distributors. This role requires a dynamic individual with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills who can work cross-functionally to ensure customer satisfaction and business growth.

This position is virtual/remote with travel, which means you can work from a home office, but will have to periodically travel to customers, attend industry events, and represent the company at key meetings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key national and regional wholesale distributors to drive sales of fresh-cut produce.

  • Serve as a liaison between both internal departments (R&D, QA, Accounting, Customer Service, Purchasing, Logistics, Operations), and customers to ensure seamless service and added value.

  • Work closely with the end-users R&D, QA, and Purchasing teams to identify opportunities for innovation, quality improvements, and cost efficiencies.

  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of management, from customer service representatives to C-suite executives.

  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to develop strategic sales initiatives.

  • Conduct business reviews, prepare sales presentations, and analyze data using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.

  • Manage contact negotiations, pricing strategies, and service agreements in alignment with company objectives.

  • Comply with food safety practices and all applicable requirements as they pertain to SQF and that are maintained.

  • Support company driven food safety improvement initiatives

Travel:

  • Travel 25 - 30% to meet with customers, attend industry events, and represent the company at key meetings.

  • Driving and Flying required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Related Experience/Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of sales experienced required (produce, foodservice industry or related preferred).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

  • Ability to work cross functionally and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and customer-centric mindset.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Occasionally, employee may need to work in an environment that is cool, wet, and noisy with temperatures ranging from 34 to 38 degrees Fahrenheit. Must be able to lift 20 lbs.

Universal pay verbiage :

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $75,000-$140,000

This role will also receive annual incentive plan bonus.​
