Job Description:

Small Site Deployment Project Manager

HOW A PROJECT/TASK MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Assists remote DOE locations with establishing and maintaining comprehensive facility security programs for implementing secure networks.

  • Leads the team in setting up remote small office networks, ensuring reliable connectivity and efficient system implementation.

  • Oversee and ensures compliance with DOE security policies and federal regulations (e.g., DOE Order 470.4B, NISPOM).

  • Conduct site surveys to include inspections, audits, and assessments across multiple DOE facilities.

  • Help sites develop and implement site-specific security programs and emergency response plans.

  • Coordinate with site leadership, federal agencies, and contractors to maintain operational security.

  • Provide guidance on security protocols to employees and contractors.

  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on security compliance and findings.

  • Stay updated on changes to DOE regulations and emerging security threats.

  • Assist with development of technical documentation (diagrams, security plan controls annex and risk assessment, etc.) in support of certification and accreditation for secure spaces.

  • Meet with various customers to determine facility and data needs.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

  • Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

  • Prepare designs, diagrams and documentation for multiple audiences including federal customer leadership, contractors, and business partners.

  • Create project plans and presentations for executive level management, and technical working diagrams and checklists for operations staff.

  • Submit Engineering Change Requests (ECR) for the CCB (Change Control Board).

  • Participates in special projects as required.

  • Must have excellent problem-solving.

  • Requires DOE Q or TS level clearance.

  • Subject to random drug screening.

  • When not traveling, this position is onsite without the flexibility for telework

  • Requires 50-75% travel.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science

● Required Experience: 10+ years of related experience

● Required Skills:

  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in facility security or related fields.

  • In-depth knowledge of DOE regulations, NISPOM, and federal security standards.

  • Ability to travel extensively (up to 75%) to DOE sites across the United States and abroad.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

● Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) or equivalent.

  • Certified Facility Security Officer (FSO) training completion.

  • Experience with classified material handling and safeguarding.

  • Familiar with DOE Safeguard and Security (S&S)

  • Knowledge of secure space Requirements

The likely salary range for this position is $108,800 - $147,200. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
