New York State Senate Scheduler Albany in ALBANY, New York

NYS Senator Michelle Hinchey seeks a motivated individual to fill the role of Scheduler in either her Albany office or District Office in Kingston.The Scheduler is the manager of the Senators calendar and the point person receiving and responding to meeting and event requests. The Scheduler is responsible for organizing requests and elevating each request to the Senator and Chief of Staff, as well as ensuring that each person or group making a request receives a response from the office in a timely manner.This person is the first point of contact with individuals, groups and other government staff who visit the Albany office, and the position requires that they display utmost levels of professionalism, courtesy and discretion.This role reports directly to the Chief of Staff, with daily interaction with the Senator as well. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong organization skills, can manage many priorities at once, and is excited to work in public service.The Scheduler can be based in either Albany or Kingston, and a district-based Scheduler in Kingston would be required to travel to Albany during the legislative session from January to June.Primary Responsibilities:Maintain the Senators calendar and work with the Chief of Staff to deconflict events and meetings as necessaryReceive all meeting and event requests from constituents, organizations, government offices and other stakeholders and execute timely responses confirming or declining requestsIn consultation with the Chief of Staff, lead Scheduling Review meetings with the Senator and Senior StaffEnsure that the Senator and Senior Staff are kept aware of invitation deadlines and speaking requestsWork with Senate Events and partners in legislative offices to coordinate annual events that the Senator hosts, such as Dairy DayMake lodging and travel arrangements for the SenatorCreate and update the Senators binder during legislative sessionAssist the District Director and Constituent Services Team with determining what events require Senate AwardsAccompany the Senator at events when neededManage incoming mail and order office suppliesSome travel is requiredSome late-night hours are requiredThe ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree along with these competencies:Strong organization and communication skills as well as strong attention to detailProficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Google SuiteA quick learner and self-starterAbility to think critically and find creative solutionsKnowledge of the New York State legislative process is preferredThe salary range is $48,000 to $50,000, commensurate with education and experience.
