MASTER PLANNER / SCHEDULER I in Albany, NY
Curia provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
The Master Planner/Scheduler I is responsible for the analysis and review of Curia’s portfolio of materials and finished goods to provide materials and production plans for execution by operations and quality. The objective is to ensure continuity of supply to support high levels of customer service and to maintain target inventory levels for the raw materials and intermediates required to manufacture API and drug product. The MP/S is the primary liaison with client and customer services, suppliers and plant operations management. In addition they will serve as the point person in the sales and operations planning processes. This position will drive schedule adherence, expedite resolution of any supply issues within the site and ensure transparency, visibility and alignment across all Curia departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Purchasing/Planning
Analyze and challenge plant capacity data to determine manufacturing sequencing and plant and lab capabilities
Plan and schedule workflow and operations according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times
Create a master schedule to establish a plan to meet shipping dates specified by sales forecasts and customer orders
Confer with supervisors to determine the status of assigned projects
Expedite operations, including all functional groups, to prevent delay of schedules
Alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
Master Data
Work with others to create an environment where safety, quality and high performance are core competencies
Recommend and implement methods to increase the quality of products and/or services, use metrics to measure progress, and promote continuous improvements in all activities
Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices
Participate in self-development activities and training of others
Respond to and proactively address issues raised by internal and external customers
Material Control
Review and report on inventory accumulation and assist in management of inventory balances
Maintain inventory turnover and usage to meet specifications and requirements
Review inventory for actual and potential obsolescence and report monthly with explanations and recommended disposition
Populate data for daily cross-functional team meetings for issues within a rolling 4-week time fence, and weekly interdepartmental materials meetings
Attend weekly interdepartmental materials meetings and complete assigned tasks
Maintain control substance tracking and reporting
Education and Experience
Required
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in resources planning, materials management or scheduling in a manufacturing environment
Experience with Oracle MRP, ERP or comparable EBS system strongly preferred
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in business or related technical field
Chemical manufacturing experience
Prior supervisory and project management experience
Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement measures
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong computer skills: Excel, Access, and Oracle
Understanding of DRP or MRP concepts
Ability to establish and achieve objectives working effectively with clients, suppliers and all levels of employees
Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail is essential
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents
Ability to respond to inquiries from members of the business community
Must be a strong team player with ability to effectively influence across a multitude of departments
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Pay Range: $47,000 - $59,025/year.
Education, experience, location and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
