Joni and Friends Receptionist (Part-Time) in Agoura Hills, California

Duties: 

Under the supervision of the Manager, Talent Acquisition, support the overall objectives of Joni and Friends’ Human Resources department. Perform duties and responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Reception: Phones

  • Answer the telephone in a cheerful, friendly and professional manner assessing the needs of the caller as quickly as possible and directing the call to the appropriate employee/department

  • Take messages for all staff in accordance with policy and directives

  • Monitor the general mailbox and distribute messages as necessary

  • Log all calls in the Worksheet; follow up with callers as needed

  • Reception: In-person Guests

  • Create and maintain as necessary badges for visitors, tours, vendors, etc.

  • Receive and greet visitors as they arrive in the reception area

  • If visitors are meeting with a staff member(s), provide them with a badge and assure that they have signed the Daily Visitor Log

  • Contact the appropriate employee/department to come to the Reception Desk to greet their visitor

  • Assess visitors such as sales representatives and those seeking employment or other information. Accept information/resumes, etc. If necessary, contact the appropriate employee/department for assistance

  • Department Administrative Support

  • Provide the Daily Room Set-Up/Task Schedule for the Day Porter

  • Prepare and send Anniversary Certificates, Sympathy/Wedding/Get Well Cards for staff as directed

  • Maintain and update the IDC Phone Extension List, and any other assigned HR documents

  • Work with IT to ensure voicemail greetings are set for special events or holidays, communicating office closures

  • Security Awareness

  • Monitor select security cameras and report suspicious activities or security concerns to appropriate personnel

  • Remain vigilant and aware of surroundings for potential issues

  • Follow emergency procedures in case of security issues or emergencies

  • Other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor to support department and organizational needs

    Qualifications: 

  • Must possess a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with the Joni and Friends statement of faith

  • Desire to serve in a growing and dynamic Christian service ministry

  • Good communication skills with the ability to positively and professionally interact with the public and all levels of employees

  • Previous customer service/receptionist experience, basic telephone etiquette, and excellent interpersonal skills required

  • Must be a team player and self-starter who is flexible and able to work independently

  • The capacity to prioritize and manage multiple projects is necessary along with a minimum typing proficiency of 40 wpm

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. occasionally without assistance

  • Good interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to effectively organize and prioritize a wide range of daily tasks with varied deadlines are necessary

  • Basic database or CRM experience

  • Strong general computer skills are necessary along with a competent, working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and the Internet

  • Understanding of Christian ministry and specifically Joni and Friends is desirable

This is an in-person position at the Agoura Hills location, working Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 24 hours per week. Compensation is $18-20 per hour.
