Duties:

The Donor Specialist at Joni and Friends plays a crucial role in supporting a key segment of our donor base, particularly those contributing gifts under $1,000. This position is focused on managing the engagement and stewardship of this extensive tier of donors through personalized strategies for mass cultivation, including tailored digital and direct mail campaigns.

• Donor Cultivation & Care

• Building and maintaining relationships with donors through regular communication via phone, emails, and other recognition methods to boost contributions

• Conducting daily reviews of Salesforce to identify opportunities in the book of ministry, acknowledge gifts, manage data, and tailor interactions based on donor entry points

• Aiming to increase the revenue of the book of ministry to meet annual goals set by the Development Leadership Team

• Engagement and Retention Strategy

• Collaborating with the Senior Donor Specialist, Cultivation and Retention to develop and implement engagement strategies for donors within their specific book of ministry

• Crafting and managing donor strategies for Lapsed Donors, proven Lifetime Giving Donors, Limited Communication Donors, and others identified through trend analysis

• Directly overseeing the reengagement strategies and communication efforts to ensure success

• Process Enhancement

• Working closely with the Director, Donor Cultivation & Retention, and Senior Donor Specialist, Cultivation & Retention to refine and implement donor cultivation strategies, focusing on automated communications and engagement platforms

• Leading efforts to reevaluate the targeted donor groups' Digital Experience and campaigns to build specific donor journeys that enhance engagement and recognition

• Managing the year-end appeal mailings for the reengagement book of ministry, as well as year-end financial follow-up communications

• Other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor to support department and organizational needs

Qualifications: 

• Must possess a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with the Joni and Friends statement of faith

• Desire to serve in a growing and dynamic Christian service ministry

• Proven experience in donor management and fundraising within a non-profit environment.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

• Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities

• Proficiency in Salesforce and data management

• Good interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to effectively organize and prioritize a wide range of daily tasks with varied deadlines are necessary

• Must be detail oriented, committed to accuracy, and team player who is flexible and able to work independently

• Must have a strong sense of confidentiality

• Strong general computer skills are necessary along with a competent, working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and the Internet

• Experience with email automation, subscription services, and database management systems

• Understanding of Christian ministry and specifically Joni and Friends is desirable

  Compensation is $27.50 - $31.00 per hour. This is a hybrid position in the Agoura Hills location Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, remote Wednesday and Friday.
