Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Panel Wirer for Switchgear to assemble, wire, and test electrical switchgear and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, the ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams, and experience in working with switchgear or similar electrical systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability and safety of power distribution systems.
Responsibilities
Assemble switchgear panels, control cabinets, and other components based on engineering drawings and specifications.
Wire electrical components, including circuit breakers, relays, transformers, and busbars, according to schematics.
Terminate and connect cables, wires, and other electrical components.
Perform continuity and functional tests on wired assemblies to ensure proper operation.
Identify and correct wiring or assembly errors.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in switchgear systems.
Ensure wiring and assembly comply with electrical codes, industry standards, and company quality requirements.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Keep work areas clean and organized to maintain a safe working environment.
Review and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
Document wiring changes, issues encountered, and resolutions for future reference.
Communicate progress and challenges to supervisors or project managers.
Work closely with engineers, production teams, and quality control staff to meet project deadlines.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency.
May involve standing, bending, and repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Occasional overtime or shift work to meet project deadlines.
Essential Skills
Experience in working with switchgear or similar electrical systems (3+ years).
Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Proven experience in electrical wiring, switchgear assembly, or related work.
Familiarity with various electrical components, including circuit breakers, relays, and power distribution units.
Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Proficient in using hand and power tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, drills, and screwdrivers.
Basic knowledge of electrical standards and codes.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $52000.00/yr.
