Responsibilities

Job Summary:

  • The Internal Medicine Residency Program at St. Mary Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education and is affiliated with the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Residents are in training and the program faculty consist of "full-time" physician-educators (Academic Staff Physicians) and voluntary teaching physicians.

  • A licensed, independent practitioner Chief Resident in Internal Medicine is a key and essential member of the faculty of the Department of Medical Education and one or more Chief Residents serve in this role annually.

  • The Chief Resident must be a member of the Medical Staff at St. Mary Medical Center and will be licensed by the State of California and either currently certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine or qualified and registered to sit for the next such certification examination.

  • The Chief Resident will have both an interest in and an aptitude for teaching, learning, program administration, and academic creativity as defined by the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

  • The Chief Resident is chosen by the Residency Program Director in Internal Medicine with input from faculty and residents

Qualifications

  • M.D. (Medical Doctor) degree or D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathy) degree from accredited University.

  • License: MD:CA or DO:CA

  • Prior residency experience required, at least 2 years.

Pay Range

$37.04 - $37.04 /hour
