Your Role and Responsibilities

The TBM Council is seeking a Partner Program Manager for an expanding team managing our Technology Business Management (TBM) community. With over 15,000 members and scaling fast, the TBM Council is a non-profit open ecosystem underwritten by IBM. The Council staff are full-time employees of IBM who manage all aspects of the Council's operations, strategy, membership, events, certification, and standards, working in partnership with the TBMC board and community members.

Reporting to the General Manager of Growth Programs, this program manager will focus on the planning, execution, and promotion of TBM Council's sponsoring partner members and ecosystem activities. The ideal candidate brings experience and ability across a combination of project and program management, partner ecosystem program management, partner channel sales, community engagement management, and marketing communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the General Manager of Growth Programs to develop and manage a thriving partner ecosystem for the Council.

  • Conduct proactive engagement with partner members and prospects to strategize and implement programs and activities to maintain and expand the Council's Ecosystem of Partner Members.

  • Support partner member sales and contracts, streamlining processes and agreements for both sides.

  • Work closely with legal and finance to ensure all partner members and agreements adhere to the Council's legal policies and parameters.

  • Take an operational mindset to our overall partner membership and programs, tracking and reporting on metrics and programmatic milestones.

  • Ensure all ecosystem partners are using their entitlements, compliant with their agreements and adherent to the Council's legal policies and parameters.

  • Help manage partner-sourced revenue and forecast for new revenue based on prospecting efforts.

  • Coordinate with marketing and other Council staff members to ensure all partner entitlements, benefits, and rules are adhered to for TBM Council events, activities, communications, and promotions.

  • Serve as main point of contact for assigned partner members and prospects, while helping to ensure all partners have a great membership experience.

  • Gather feedback from partner members and make recommendations to Council leadership to continuously improve and adapt partner programs.

  • Help manage and develop content for email, web or social communications from partners to the Community, ensuring appropriate messaging, timing, and coordination.

  • Help plan, manage, and implement partner specific events and partner participation and sponsorship in TBM Council events.

  • Coordinate with critical partners on content development and presentations for any TBM Council event, virtual or in person.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5+ years relevant experience in a fast-paced environment. Background with a technology company or a technical community is necessary.

  • Previous program management experience.

  • Prior understanding and management of a channel or technology partner ecosystem is ideal.

  • Experience working with legal, procurement, and finance; and managing contracts and overall operations.

  • Proficiency with critical CRM and program management tools, such as Salesforce.

  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.

  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.

  • Strong written, presentational, and oral communications.

  • Customer service and community-first mindset.

  • Ability to work independently, exercise judgment and meet time-sensitive goals.

  • Experience managing financial contracts or partnering with legal is helpful.

  • Ideally, an understanding of the TBM model and discipline and experience working with both leaders and practitioners of TBM. Knowledge of FinOps, SAFe and other related disciplines is an advantage.

  • Experience working with an open source or other industry community and ability to build engagement and scale with a community.

  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset.

  • Team player able to work with virtual and global cross-functional teams.
