The Opportunity:

LDIS LLC, a Tetra Tech Company, provides integrated engineering and design solutions for the Energy, Petrochem, Renewables, Water Treatment and Life Sciences markets is hiring a Process Engineering Intern to join the team. Our team meets these changing needs by being a trusted partner to each of our clients. In addition to conventional facility solutions and designs, our projects include Hydrogen Electrolysis, Ammonia Production Facilities, Renewable Natural Gas Processing, Emissions Reduction Studies, Carbon Capture and Sequestration, wastewater, pharmaceuticals, and much more.

Your Role:

Process engineers are involved in all phases of the project cycle, heavily loaded at the beginning phases (FEL1/2/3) where they help select technologies for the project and provide the roadmap of the project for the rest of the disciplines. They follow the design through detailed design and at times can follow the project into the construction, commissioning, and start-up phases of a project. Process engineers are responsible to ensure the facility design will function as intended with an emphasis to ensure the design is safe. They oversee the development of the PFDs/H&MB/P&IDs on a project, create a process simulation, size equipment and lines, participate in PHA/HAZOPs, size PSVs, provide conditions of service to various engineering disciplines and interact with the clients to ensure the needs of the project are met. Process engineers are an essential role of the design team and work with project management and all disciplines to provide a successful design for our clients. The successful candidate for this position will provide engineering support for the process engineering department. Job Responsibilities: Assist Process engineers on various tasks and projects. Supporting process engineering tasks including calculations, P&ID redlines, equipment and instrument conditions of service. Performs engineering calculations and develops analysis models for projects with supervision. Assist in organizing department standards. Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects. Interface with other engineering disciplines Accompany engineers to visit vendor facilities and jobsites, as necessary. Demonstrate a focus on least cost, safe design. Plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and compliant manner. Develop and gain understanding of P&IDS and Process Flow Diagrams.

Qualifications: Third or fourth-year student at an ABET accredited Institution enrolled in bachelor's degree program in Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Ability to use a computer and computer software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, , and Outlook. Familiarity with process simulation software Aspen Plus, HYSYS, VMG, ProMax a plus, but not required. Eager to learn, detail oriented, and a great attitude. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well with a team. Work cooperatively with engineers and designers in a fast-paced environment. Timely and effective communication.

This part-time position has the following benefits available: medical, sick leave and 401k.

Salary Range: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on level of experience, education & location.
